This is from my first encounter with a wild puma. I had been there for six days without a sighting and was beginning to lose hope when the nearby herd of guancos began to make an alert call for possible threat. After a few minutes, the puma emerged on a distant ridge-line. I used the topography to predict where she was going to go and positioned myself appropriately. It worked, and I was able to capture her in front of the Cordillera Paine mountain range, Torres del Paine National Park, Chile.
